Caring for someone with Down syndrome who exhibits symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease? Attend a free quarterly education and support group for family caregivers of individuals with Down syndrome who are concerned about Alzheimer’s disease.

Join us for our first quarterly education/support group meeting to be held at its new home, the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County.  This model replaces the traditional monthly support group provided through a collaborative for the past five years at Alzheimer’s Orange County.

The goals of our new model are to engage the families of the DSAOC in order to provide earlier opportunities for education and engagement in assessment and research, to provide all families caring for individuals with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities education on topics of interest as well as access to resources available through the partnering agencies, and to offer members emotional support and encouragement for their caregiving journey.

Our first topic on January 21, 2020 will be “What is the Relationship Between Down Syndrome & Alzheimer’s Disease?” and our speaker will be Eric Doran, MS.
