Episode 5: “Is there a blood test for Alzheimer’s?”

This month, we’re joined by Mark Mapstone, PhD. Dr. Mapstone earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University and is a Professor of Neurology in the UCI School of Medicine. He is a clinical neuropsychologist and a translational neuroscientist, meaning he aims to translate findings from the laboratory into practice with patients. His current work focuses on developing blood biomarkers for early detection of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Mapstone has dedicated over 20 years to the study of brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease and has received numerous academic distinctions.
