UCI MIND is part of a national network of 31 Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers (ADRC), designated NIH Centers of Excellence, working collaboratively to solve Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, to provide support to families affected, and to educate the public about research. The network, established in 1984, welcomes four new “exploratory” centers that aim to expand current ADRC initiatives with underrepresented populations such as African Americans, Native Americans, and people living in rural communities.
