The REMIND committee organize an annual symposium where predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees in neurodegenerative disease research at UCI have the opportunity to present their work to faculty, staff, and students. The event includes invited trainee presentations, poster competitions and awards, and distinguished speakers from across the country. This year we are honored to host Dr. Hector González, Professor of Neurosciences in the School of Medicine at UCSD.
Previous keynote symposium speakers include Drs. Hector Gonzalez from UCSD, Elizabeth Head from UC Irvine, Rema Raman from the University of Southern California, Cynthia Lemere from Harvard Medical School, Carol Barnes from University of Arizona, Cori Bargmann from Rockefeller University and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Leslie Thompson from UC Irvine, Marc Diamond from UT Southwestern, Rudy Tanzi from Harvard University, Rusty Gage from the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences, Li-Huei Tsai from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Clive Svendsen from Cedars-Sinai, Valina Dawson from Johns Hopkins, and Jeanne Loring from The Scripps Research Institute.


STEAM Outreach Council
UCI MIND and REMIND are members of the UCI STEAM Outreach Council, an initiative led by the Beall Center for Art + Technology that aims to engage K-12 students from local public schools in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. REMIND trainees have led brain education workshops for over 500 middle and high school students in Orange County.
